Me, Myself and I was a 9 month dedication to create a larger than life sculpture based on my own measurements of my body, just scaled up. Using only cardboard and newspaper, the first thoughts were if could make a nine foot tall structure out of these materials in the shape of myself, not only would i be challenging my own skills as a sculptor but the materials themselves. As time went on I started to understand myself and my body for what it actually is, a capsule, vessel, a shell that contains and transports around in this space. The human form is a work of art in its own right. The sculpture does not just represent the body; it’s an expression of the resilience of mankind, using recycled materials represents the idea that we are all recycled atoms that used to be other people, planets, stars, plants and animals. The process of creating was intuitive, constantly learning and making.
